My Name Is Sonya...I Hoard Christmas Stuff

Found these late last week and stuck them in the pottery bowl we keep on the dining room table. Aren't they lovely? Unbreakable Christmas Ornaments. I love the little plastic hook top on each one...

This afternoon they made their way down to the craft room to be used some way, in some sort of display this Christmas.

And I am finally, finally starting to use some of that vintage wrapping paper that I have been hoarding away. If you want to excite me, hand me a sheet of unused (or even used!) Christmas wrapping paper from the 50's through early 80's. I will radiate excitement!

And then I will tuck it away forever.

Not any more, Baby! I am bringing out that wrapping paper and using it, the way it was meant to be used. In teeny, tiny increments. Just kidding. But I am actually using it!

This is my favorite:

To the first commenter - I've been doing the same with maps and clipboards :-) Sonya, those Christmas ornaments really bring me back to childhood, I used to love seperating the thread (much to my mum's annoyance)!

The colors of the satin ornaments look great together, don't they? It'd hard to find them not all fuzzy, too.

I collect and hoard vintage wrapping paper, too! The mod '60s kind is my favorite these days. I'm not emotionally or mentally prepared to use it in any way, though. I bring it out and show it off at Christmas.

I own a store and when I purchased it 2 years ago, there were quite a few vintage items, including wrapping paper and cards, but I think it's mostly wedding stuff. Want some?

Hmm.. I may have an old piece or 2, will have to look. When my brothers and I were born, my Mom save pieces of the wrapping paper from shower and new baby gifts and glued it in our baby books. We're talking the 50s! I did the same thing with my boys (1979 and 1982). It's fun to see how much the styles have changed. I think Mom saved wedding paper (1943), too. All in scrapbooks, so won't ever get tossed out by a son cleaning out when I am no longer here, LOL!
