Storms

We woke up about 2:30 this morning to LOUD winds...so loud I could almost envision myself on the Weather Channel explaining that the "Winds sounded like a freight train hitting the house!"

Looking around the neighborhood this morning:

Down the street...

Further down the street...

Here is our backyard playset and the tree that is "hiding" it until the tree guys come later...

The branch landed inches from the garden, which is very matted looking this afternoon. We shall see if it perks up.

Do you have this kind of weather where you live?

we get neato thunder storms that sometimes come with wind, but I don't think I've ever seen wind THAT crazy!

Thankfully not! I'm glad you didn't suffer worse damage. I think wind is so scary and have a phobia about it, having lived through a major windstorm when I was 10 (I pushed my bike home from school into the wind; we had no power for 2 weeks). We have been having cool and wet, but supposed to finally get our first 80 degree day tomorrow.

Yup, we get that kind of weather...and worse...I live in tornado alley...although, it has been a fairly mild storm season this year, which is nice after the horrible winter!

You live in my neighborhood! That big downed tree is right next door to me!

Sarah, I love a good storm with all the crashing lightening and thunder...but that wind is just something else, isn't it?

Sue, that would have shaken me up, too, at that age.

Michael, so these kinds of pics are a regular occurance down there, aren't they? Frightening!

Annalissa! You have got to be kidding me! What a small, small world.
I bet you guys were SHOCKED to see that tree lying there, it was pretty startling walking up to it.

We can get some pretty scary winds and rain here also! That is scary when it happens!

I live in Oklahoma, Sonya. 'Nuff said.

But I do hate it when the trees take a hit. They always look so torn up for years afterward. Glad you are all right!

Yep, hurricane "season" now through end of November, but at least we have advance warning with hurricanes.

Hope your garden & the play set are ok. Glad no one was injured!
