I thrift all the time too. Well, I have actually been trying to quit, but this makes me want steal your great idea for my blog (with proper attribution, of course!). It would be a fine excuse to get back at it. Even though I already have five lifetimes worth, I still can't say no to a great vintage tin. My justification? I "need" it for my work. I've also recently started a serious flirtation with old bottle caps that threatens to become a torrid love affair.

Oo! fun! I'm already a follower, before I forget.

Sarah {The Student Knitter} said...

Okay... now what am I in to? I actually don't have that many things at the moment, but I haven't had money to shop, so I haven't been looking. lol Our Christmas decorations are cheap ones we bought 5 years ago when we both moved and start our life out new together - for those I've been liking some that looks more rustic. Kitchen goodies would be neat, like serving dishes and center piece things. Fall is my favorite season and since I'm still in school I don't have fall decoratey stuff like pumpkins and centerpieces and things. My house is all sort of rustic/modern, so I'm sure you can be creative! hehehe :)

AWESOME idea for a give away!!

Gracious, what a generous offer. It dragged me out of lurking. :)

I'm currently looking for a Rat de Cave, or courting candle holder. I'd be really really impressed if you found any spritzdekor at an affordable price. Scandinavian embroidery, Christmas (feather tree!), Halloween and Thanksgiving decor, and so on. I actually have a wishbook blog online: http://rikswishbook.blogspot.com/p/kitchen.html

Anything at all would be a lovely surprise!

What an awesome giveaway! I follow you on Google Reader -- rss.

Let's see -- when I go to thrift stores/rummage sales/etc. I look for vintage stuff. Dish towels, cameras, funky retro decorations (like weird recipe boxes or bookends, anything kitchy). I love things that have to do with travel and cities -- like I have a few vintage travel guides, some old suitcases, even a cool wooden rack that held old city phone books.

Let's just say this -- I love the stuff you post and write about on your site!!!

Thanks for your effort in the blog. I love your site. I like all the other stuff, but I think my favorite is BUTTONS, paper and funky jewelry. Contact me at goldie2967(at)netins(dot)net. Thanks. Lorrie

Soooo fun, what a great idea. I have been reading your blog for quite some time and feel such a kindred spirit. We both collect many of the same things. In addition, I love vintage fabric, trims and buttons, they all spark my creative soul. Your kindred spirit from Minnesota would love to win this giveaway, better yet maybe we should plan a shopping safari.

Let's see. . .I'm a follower on Google Reader, I follow you on Twitter (and will tweet/RT the giveaway), and I Like you on Facebook.

Soooo. . .right now my searches have been for most any (especially vintage) craft supplies (buttons, glitter, ephemera, beads, etc. - I'm not a sewer so fabric and thread is kinda out); OLD yearbooks; apothecary-type glass jars; Pyrex bowls; vintage linens; Fiestaware; rhinestone jewelry; and other jewelry that I can take apart for components. I'm sure there are other items that could be added to the list, but that's a good start ;)
Thanks for the offer. . .

Love your blog, especially stories about your kids - mine are grown so am enjoying others' stories. thanks! tried posting once but failed, will try again, just learning about blogging! cavanamy@rushmore.com Rapid City, SD

Ooooo Sonya...what an amazing giveaway idea, thanks for your generosity and the fun opportunity! I would SO love to win this!

Ok, you already know that pretty much anything you find and love are things I'll love too :) Vintage Fisher Price; all things sparkly; mid century modern/danish; blingy costume jewelry; Yankee candles; vintage Halloween, Christmas (esp. fancier shiny brite and figural ornies, plastic Nativities, reindeer, bottlebrush trees, kneehugger pixie elves)...let's just say anything vintage holiday, LOL. And the goofiest things? Concert t-shirts and those textured plastic holiday wall hangings that look like a bunch of plastic confetti pieces melted together to make santas, witches, cupids, words, etc...you know the ones? Melted plastic popcorn or glitter plaques? That is just the tip of the iceberg...

I'm a loyal reader here and a follower on Facebook. Let me know when I win *crossing fingers & toes*...I'll come and shop with you :) All the best! ~Rebecca (rebeccajohnson@new.rr.com)
