Wow, Mr. Oriole is beautiful yet kinda intimidating! Does he dive-bomb you if you don't get an orange out there in a timely fashion?!
He's lovely! I didn't know orioles did that. We've had experiences like that with woodpeckers, of course, and the occasional love-sick robin.
Carol, I snorted coffee straight out of my nose when I read your comment. I think it was the 'timely fashion' part.Barbara...love sick robin made me do the same thing. I seem to be a bit punchy this morning! We haven't fed him at ALL...I am hoping one of the neighbors is stepping up.
At least if he's making noise, he's beautiful to look at!
Our melodramatic Orioles flee the scene as soon as they spot us!They love apples and oranges :)Great shots!
How pretty! I have never seen an oriole. Last summer I had a female cardinal who pecked at her reflection in my window...all day long. It got to be so annoying I put a fake owl in the window to make her stop. I literally had to wipe bird snot off the window where she had insistently pecked. I think she had a nest nearby and was was warning "the other bird" to stay away.
