An Unassuming Small Book:

That ended up being someones recipe book. I was happy to have found it at a church sale, yet sort of sad. Did someone not know what was in this tiny book? Was there no one to pass it on to?
Those recipes are classic and I am now the keeper of the small handwritten recipe book.

Enjoy your day! Sonya

What a sweet treasure. Don't you just love finding things like that?

I'm often amazed at the things I see at Goodwill and church sales. Once at Gwill there was a framed needlework - it was like a letter and started out 'Dear Ronnie, Just wanted to let you know that you are the most wonderful son any mother could wish for.' And it went on extolling the virtues of Ronnie. It was from the '70s and at the time I felt angry at Ronnie for giving it away. But maybe they were all dead.

It makes me especially sad to see all the ancestor photos at the flea market or estate sales. As my family genealogist, I would give anything to have photos/mementos of my family.

Yes...I sort of feel very much like Gladys' recipe book keeper right now. I remember last year in the paper there was a woman who specialized in making fruit cake but had no one to pass the recipe on to because her kids HATED fruitcake. Are you kidding me?? I wanted to show up at her front door and ask her to teach ME. I hope they learn before she does pass.
